I'll triage what's recoverable from local backups, shadow copies, or cloud sync, and tell you honestly if a paid decryptor is the only path. I never recommend paying ransoms casually.
Will I lose my files?
Almost never. I prioritize cleanup that preserves your data. In rare cases where a wipe-and-reinstall is faster than chasing infections, I back up your files first and explain the trade-off.
